Terri Hooley: 75 Revolutions

Terri Hooley is a legend in the Belfast music scene. He was the owner of Good Vibrations Record Shop, and he gave critical help to the Undertones, RUDI, the Outcasts and many others.

I was commissioned to design this special book in 2023, written by Stuart Bailie. It features over 100 photos of Terri Hooley and the people in his life, many of them unseen or rare. In his own words, Terri discusses radical times, conflict, lucky escapes, messy behaviour and the alternative soul of Belfast.

This book was launched around the time of Hooley’s 75th birthday. It needed to reflect his legacy whilst also respecting some of the troubling subject matter in the book. I landed on this clean, black and white approach, with serif headlines and dramatic drop caps.

The book dimensions are 261mm square.
